holding the gains

Use your findings to drive change in our health system

In this section, you will analyze the data you have collected in your small tests of change (rapid PDSA cycles).

If your study has identified a process or innovation that achieves all or part of your original Aim Statement then you are going to want to do two things:

  1. Hold those gains - continue to follow the targeted process to make sure that we are not backtracking on our achievements. You must also appreciate when the new process or system is breaking down so that you can investigate the cause of measurements that fall short (or exceed) the target.

  2. Effect change in your institution such that the new process that you have discovered is promulgated across the system.
