A word from our director…

Welcome to Our Primary Care Track!

As the Director of the Primary Care Track at Lenox Hill Hospital, I am thrilled to introduce you to an innovative, immersive training experience that prepares residents to excel as leaders and advocates in primary care. Located in the heart of NYC, our program is dedicated to nurturing the skills, passions, and aspirations of each of our residents while providing comprehensive and compassionate care to the communities we serve.

Our curriculum is designed to offer a unique blend of experiences that make training both deeply impactful and highly personalized. During their second and third years, residents in the Primary Care Track engage in extended primary care immersion, allowing for flexibility, creativity, and personal input in shaping their training experience. We integrate primary care-focused, evidence-based medicine with structured didactics, flipped classroom teaching sessions, and hands-on learning in some of the most diverse healthcare settings in the city. Residents in our program gain longitudinal clinical experience across various practice sites, including:

- A patient-centered medical home that emphasizes continuity and holistic care.

- A LGBTQ+ and HIV-focused clinic, offering specialized care for vulnerable populations.

- A women's mental health shelter, where our trainees work alongside experts in trauma-informed care and mental health.

Our aim is to equip you not only with clinical skills but also with a strong foundation in health equity, community engagement, and advocacy. Through dedicated mentorship and personalized learning plans, we empower residents to build portfolios of accomplishments that highlight their unique interests within primary care.

If you are driven by a vision of primary care that goes beyond traditional practice, values human connections, and champions the health of diverse communities, we invite you to explore what our Primary Care Track has to offer.

Warm regards,

Katherine Killian MD, MPH, MSEd
